Through The Eyes of Ms. A
Welcome to Ms.Adery's Portfolio Exhibition

I like to think of myself as an intelligent athlete.  With that in mind, I have created a website highlighting important features from my Master of Arts in Educational Technology experience as well as emphasize the enjoyable classroom and gymnasium environment I have created.

Three specific pages within my website that I would like to bring to light, encouraging you to take a closer look, are my philosophy, student work, as well as course work.

Philosophy:
Walking by my gymnasium you might see students singing along to music, as they increase their heart rates, while having fun.  What you may not see, at first glance, is how they have improved their cardio respiratory endurance, various object control skills, and their understanding of a healthy lifestyle.

As a teacher, it is important to know my outlook as it relates to educating and inspiring young minds.  I create an environment where students feel safe and enjoy coming to class. I am not one to wear a  “teaching mask.”  Who I am as a teacher is what I represent as a person.  Subsequently, I get to share what I stand for in the gymnasium while motivating my students. Educating eager learners is not a job. It is my passion.  I am lucky to wake up each morning and bring out the best in every student.

Student Work:
It has been said that a picture is worth a thousand words.  In the area of physical education, a photograph speaks echoes.  Each picture taken has a story.  Whether it shows improvement of an object control skill, students smiling while participating in exercise, or a core strength balance, each picture illustrates the hard work that my students put forth.  I have always told my students never to compare themselves to others. They should always strive for self-improvement.  Each picture that you see will make you smile, knowing that my students have fun and are increasing their physical activity levels.

Course Work:
Through Michigan State University’s Master of Arts in Educational Technology courses, I have learned a vast amount of technology.  In turn, I have implemented such technologies into the various domains in which I have taught.  Highlighted, under course work, are some of the pieces that have helped me to become the teacher that I am today.

I have decided to showcase the aforementioned websites as they give you more insight as to who I am and what I represent as an educator and student.  My philosophy, student work, and course work pages are all part of how I have evolved as an individual.  Through the MAET program at Michigan State University as well as through my teaching experiences, I have gained a greater understanding of what it means to be a lifelong learner and quality teacher.   As I learn more, I am able to impart knowledge upon my students.
